Robert Florka
Chief Legal Officer |
Robert Florka is the Chief Legal Officer for the Company. He
is responsible for all legal matters of WorkLife Financial
Inc. and its subsidiaries, including compliance with laws,
regulations, rulings applicable to every industry in which
the Company and its subsidiaries do business, which includes
Professional Employer Organization, Administrative Services
Organization, Employee Benefits and Human Resources. Mr.
Florka is responsible for compliance under Federal law, as
well as the laws of Michigan, Georgia, Texas, Arizona and
other states. Among many other responsibilities, he also
acts as an advisor to Directors, Officers and senior
management of the Company and all of its subsidiaries.
Early in his legal career, Mr. Florka was entrusted with the
handling of complex lawsuits. He represented diverse
clients, including the United States Olympic Hockey Team and
Korean Air Lines. His trial work involved a wide range of
issues, from professional malpractice of all kinds, to
business disputes and air crash disasters. In 2003 Mr.
Florka joined Strategic Financial Services, Inc. as General
Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary.
His responsibilities included compliance under Federal law
as well as compliance with laws, regulations and rulings
applicable to every industry in which the Company and its
subsidiaries did business.
Mr. Florka earned his Bachelor of Arts from Yale University
and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit
School of Law in 1983. While in law school, Mr. Florka
edited the University of Detroit Law Review and won awards
for legal writing and advocacy. Mr. Florka is licensed to
practice law in Michigan and is admitted to practice before
state courts as well as U.S. federal courts.
Mr. Florka has a special interest in deaf and hard of
hearing children.
