Steve Butcher Senior Vice President - Client Services |
As the Senior Vice President of Client Services, Mr.
Butcher’s main responsibility is to increase brand awareness
by consistently reinforcing the Company’s products and
offerings through a high level of client service to both our
client companies and their employees. This is made more
effective by the fact that Mr. Butcher is part of the due
diligence team that researches, selects and monitors the
companies and carriers whose products we utilize. He is also
the corporate liaison within WorkLife Financial’s Sales
Process to coordinate with the various sales departments in
order to bring all of the Company’s product offerings to
clients in a time frame that best suits their needs. In
addition, Mr. Butcher manages the national Client Service
Team’s activities in regards to new business as well as
existing clients within its geographic areas. Furthermore,
he is responsible for the procurement, implementation and
management of our clients’ various retirement plans.
Mr. Butcher began his career at SEI Investments in
Pennsylvania as a Financial Accountant and then as a Mutual
Fund Accountant; two years later, he began working for JP
Morgan in New York and Delaware as an Asset Account
Coordinator. In his role at JP Morgan, he accounted for a
series of time critical daily money market sweeps of
client’s accounts, totaling in the multi-millions. These
sweeps were crucial in the firm’s ability to loan overnight
money that accounted for a considerable amount of income.
In 1998, Mr. Butcher moved to Michigan to work at Comerica
Bank as a Trust Officer in Global Income and Trading. One of
the main activities he was responsible for was managing the
global “risk” exposure and operating losses for accounts
with global assets of $1.5 Billion in market value and
maintaining an average of 1,300 in monthly trade volumes.
In 1999, Mr. Butcher joined Legacy Financial Services that,
shortly thereafter, merged operationally with Strategic
Financial Services, Inc. where he was promoted to the
position of Director of Business Operations. A year later he
became Director of Participant Financial Services where he
managed the start-up effort of a new department aimed at
providing financial services to small and medium size
business and Professional Employer Organizations.
Additionally, he researched, negotiated and contracted with
the various investment and insurance companies that provide
the vehicles used in the departments services (i.e. 401(k),
529 Plans, 412(i) Plans, Life, Disability, Medical, Dental
and Workers Compensations Insurances). In 2004, he became
Vice President of Strategic Business Solutions, Inc. (now
owned by WorkLife Financial Inc.)
Mr. Butcher earned his Bachelor of Business Administration
in Accounting with a double minor in Finance and General
Business from Western Michigan University and his MBA from
Wayne State University.
